WELCOME TO THE FHC MEMBERS AREA

This site provides access to members of the Family History Connections (FHC) to information, indexes and publications, provided to assist members in their family history research.

Those members accessing this site from computers in the FHC Library will not be required to login.

Members wishing to view the indexes and publications from outside the FHC Library will be required to login and authenticate their membership.

Logging in is not required if you wish to use the Library Catalogue Search.

For all other features you must Login.

Immigration Seminar

An Immigration Seminar will be held on 29th March 2025, which is a joint venture between GSV and FHC.

FHC Members will need to login via the "Member +| Member Login" option in the menu to obtain their discount and book a place.

Immigration to Victoria in the Nineteenth Century

How and why did your ancestors migrate to Victoria? What prompted them to leave their friends and relations behind and travel halfway around the world to a possible unknown future?

Come along to a seminar where we will examine these questions and explore how you can find the resources to help you better research your family history. 

The topics to be explored will include:

Why did they come?
What schemes brought migrants to Victoria?
What happened on the voyage?
What were their initial experiences on arrival?
Case studies to guide your own research.

FHC Members can access MyHeritage Library Edition from home.

MyHeritage is an online genealogy database that allows family historians to search billions of historical records and family trees from around the world.

Records include births, deaths and marriages, census, directories, government, land, court, wills, etc.

Note: family trees can be viewed but the owners cannot be contacted without a personal subscription to MyHeritage.
